Welcome to the North Carolina Community College Planning and Research Organization
(CCPRO) Website!
The
North Carolina Community College Planning and Research Organization
(CCPRO) will begin it's 25th year in January 2018 as a network of
planners and researchers from the 58 community colleges across the
state. The organization was chartered in 1993 with 63 members, most of
whom are now retired, and has grown to over 115 eligible members. I
hope you will take a few minutes to read the history of CCPRO located
on this website. It will be very helpful to you in understanding CCPRO
and how you can contribute to the organization. While there has been a
true changing of the guard for the organization since its inception,
CCPRO is known as one of the strongest NCCCS professional
organizations for support provided among employees whose primary
function provides a foundation for college planning, analytics,
and research.
Today, CCPRO professionals support each other and the work of their
colleagues at peer institutions. Our members understand the importance
of collaboration and are willing to share their expertise. This makes
the organization an especially valuable resource for those who are new
to the research and planning profession. For those who are veterans of
the profession, the organization provides opportunities for
sharing best practices, idea exchanges, and networking with fellow
professionals.
In addition to its annual statewide meeting, CCPRO holds regional
meetings to provide professional development opportunities throughout
the year. Please contact me or the regional director in your area to
ensure you stay connected and informed. Also, CCPRO members are willing
to work with campuses to do peer assessment to help you prepare for
SACSCOC accreditation related reporting.
More recently, CCPRO has been working closely with the NC Community College System (NCCCS) Office on the NC Community Colleges Excellence in Research and Analytics Initiative.
This project is working provide support to all of us. Many members are
now actively engaged in project work and setting objectives as we move
forward. If you are not currently serving on one of the teams, please
consider joining us in building a stronger support system for
training, research, and leadership for IE/IR staff across the state.
Finally, this website was established as a repository of helpful
information to support the work of CCPRO members and others seeking
information regarding institutional effectiveness, planning, research,
accreditation compliance, and assessment. CCPRO leadership is in the
process of overhauling and updating the website and its contents. If
you have ideas about how to improve the website, please contact me or
one of the Executive Committee members listed on this website.
I sincerely hope that 2017-18 is a great year for each of you! We look
forward to staying engaged and working on your behalf this year.
